South Carolina seat belt law?

How come in South Carolina I can get a ticket for driving without my seat belt on. But you can ride a motorcycle without a helmet? And how come I could be driving a pickup with people sitting in the bed and I can get a ticket for not wearing a seatbelt in the front where there are airbags. But guys can ride in the back of the truck with nothing and be fine? I'm just wondering.
