Contest seatbelt ticket?

I was wearing my seatbelt but I had the over the shoulder part under my arm because It can rub against my neck and irrate me. I know that it is not the proper way to wear one but it was still ON. I can see where she wouldn't have seen it but I don't want to pay for something I didn't do. I didn't fight the officer because what is the point and I didn't want to be seen as argumentative or causing trouble. I know it's their job to pull people over that aren't following the laws. But what happens when you are and still get a ticket?
