I Got a ticket with my permit?

I live in the downriver area in Michigan and recieved a ticket for not having my seatbelt on while I was in the passenger seat. I was going to take my road test next week and now I'm afraid I may not be able to because my friends who drive say if you get a ticket while you still have your permit you have to wait a year to take it. I don't it should affect me getting my license because I wasn't the one driving and the only reason why I didn't have my seatbelt on was because there were three people in a small pickup truck and the guy in the middle was sitting on where it clicks. The ticket is only $65 and I'm probably not going to fight it because they will just say no or some other crap. So does anyone know if this will affect me getting my license or if I will get a mark even though I wasn't the one driving?
