Should I fight this ticket in court?

Ok so the other day i was driving n I get pulled over for my license plate light being out but he gave me a ticket for my seatbelt but the thing is I had my seatbelt off, i took it off as soon as he stopped me(for some reason idk i freaked out idont like cops) I told him i had it on but he didnt believe it. Would they believe me in court?
